Ingredients
For the Casserole:
12 ounces frozen cauliflower florets (or fresh, cut into bite-sized pieces)
10 ounces frozen broccoli florets (or fresh, cut into bite-sized pieces)
4 slices bacon (cooked until crispy and crumbled)
⅔ cup sour cream
4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper
⅛ teaspoon onion powder
⅛ teaspoon paprika
1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
For Garnish:
2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Vegetables
If using frozen vegetables, steam the cauliflower and broccoli according to package instructions until tender. Drain any excess water.
If using fresh vegetables, steam or boil them until fork-tender, then drain well to remove excess moisture.
Step 2: Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Step 4: Combine Ingredients
Add the steamed cauliflower and broccoli to the cream mixture. Gently fold in half of the crumbled bacon and 1 cup of the shredded cheese mixture until everything is evenly coated.
Step 5: Assemble the Casserole
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Transfer the vegetable and cream mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top along with the rest of the crumbled bacon.
Step 6: Bake
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 12–15 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5–10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Garnish with finely chopped green onions for added flavor and color.
